I first heard about this job through Robin Garden Design, Mr James has purchased an area of the land at the side of their property. Mr James required the land to extend the garden along the side of the house. Joining the front and back garden together.
Due to the wall being a long length with a difference of ground level, I decided the way forward was to use a series of stone pillars to break the levels up off the ground. Also I was to construct two gate entrances at the front and rear of the property.
Once the levels of footing were excavated and concreted an inner wall was constructed from breeze block. When the inner wall was constructed, all the levels were there to construct both sides of the wall from local cobbles. The cobbles had to be laid in layers to match surrounding cobble work in north Stainley.
The cobble was finish by constructing the stone pillars, Where the wall changed in height. The whole wall and pillars were finally capped with an ‘Indian Stone’ and then the new gates were
